Life Cycle of Financial Planning
We used an "aging" app on my iPhone to create pictures of what they will look like... it was fun and a great way to get them to "see" into the future. We then made a poster that stated why it's important to financially plan. Other pictures include them working on their popplets.

Using WeSeed to learn about Global Economics and the Stock Market.
Students were given $10,000 we seed dollars to invest as they desired on on the Stock Market. It has ignited their interest of things such as the Italy Political turmoil and what the G20 is. It has been an awesome learning experience. It is set up as a social network so students can compare their profit and loss and "compete". Below are screen shots of what the site looks like. It has been such an amazing experience for the students.
"It's not a question of whether you will or won't use social media it's a question of how"
Because Social Media is the way of the world we are using it in my classroom with Edmodo. We use it to take the classroom beyond the school walls and for discussion and thinking to be ongoing. Highlights of this tool are that the classroom is paperless and students have the option to share their thoughts in a safe environment. Below is a screen shot one class website.

Business Mentors thanks the Billings Education Foundation, The Stock Market Simulations from Sifma and awesome students.
Krista Hertz at the Education Foundation paired five teams of students with business mentors. The students then worked together to build a portfolio with the assitance of their mentor. To kick off the relationship the students introduced themselves using a Prezi which they then emailed to their mentors. Below is an example from the Go Go Brokers.
